Ladies' Lunch 24 November 2017
The next Ladies Long Lunch is Friday 24 November.
Doors open at 12noon, with lunch served at 12.30pm.
Guest speakers this month are from the Waikato branch of "Foster Hope". This charity is about having everyday essential items available at a moment's notice, put together in a backpack to accompany children needing urgent foster care. Many children come with only what they stand up in, so the backpack is filled with items such as pyjamas, toothbrush and paste, socks, slippers, combs, flannels etc. Items are welcome, so feel free to bring an unwrapped gift suitable to go into a backpack.
Where: Resthaven Village Centre, 4 Vogel Street Cambridge.
Entry is $20 per person. Payment can be made on the day, but bookings are required by phoning reception 827 6097 or email info@resthavenfoundation.org.nz. Funds raised go to the Resthaven Foundation.

Announcing September's Long Lunch Fundraiser

Enjoy a lovely long lunch, and hear from guest speakers, the Music Moves Me Trust.
Music Moves Me exists to offer high-quality, interactive music and music therapy to people living with dementia in an effort to help them maintain function, access memory and connect with those around them.

Ladies Long Lunch 11 August - Say cheese!
Love cheese? Then don't miss our August Long Lunch because we have a very special guest speaker - Sue Arthur from Over the Moon Dairy Company.

In late 2007, Sue brought her inspiration to the South Waikato to set up Over the Moon, and more recently she established the delectable Over the Moon shop in Cambridge. To finish off the long lunch, we will have a chance to taste some of their amazing cheeses.

Enjoy great company in lovely surroundings. There will be a lovely yuletide meal, then sit back and be entertained as we hear from guest speaker Judith Robinson. And to finish off the long lunch, Rachael Harper will give a specialty iced cupcakes demonstration. What better way to spend a Friday afternoon in the middle of winter!

Fab Concert Fundraiser - June 18th
On Sunday June 18th we will have the Hamilton Community Gospel Choir performing as part of our Winter Concert Series.
We are looking forward to a lovely afternoon with the choir - come and hear this talented group.
Entry is $10pp, pay at the door. The concert starts at 2pm and is followed by afternoon tea.

Foodie Fundraiser in May!

Resthaven Foundation is very pleased to announce Jan Bilton as the guest speaker at a foodie fundraiser event sure to please. Grab your friends and book in now!
Jan Bilton is revered in the world of food – she is a cookbook author, food and lifestyle magazine editor (Living Today, The Foodtown Magazine), food consultant, stylist, photographer and syndicated columnist. Author of 27 cookbooks, her bestselling "New Zealand Kiwifruit Cookbook" sold 140,000 copies internationally, and in 2010 she was named winner of the "Best Food/Wine Guide" category at the World Food Media Awards, for her cookbook "Marlborough on the Menu". Jan's mantra is "Real Food for Real People".
Jan will be speaking of her wonderful trips overseas (all to do with food) and her career in food consultancy for Irvine Holt Enterprises.
This is a fundraising event and is part of the Ladies Long Lunch series. Entry is $25 per person. Enjoy great company in lovely surroundings at the Resthaven Village Centre. A glass of wine and a delicious 2 course meal are included in the price. And the meal will be from one of Jan's many cookbooks.
Proceeds will go towards a wheelchair-capable vehicle for resident and community use.

Ladies Long Lunches will reconvene in 2017
Our recent Christmas Long Lunch attracted a big crowd of happy ladies. And the Long Lunches' fine fare and company have been so well received that we will be continuing this monthly event from February 2017.
DECEMBER CHRISTMAS LONG LUNCH
The final Ladies Long Lunch for the year at Resthaven's lovely Village Centre is on Friday 2 December 2016 and will be commencing at the earlier time of 12noon.
This will be a festive fun affair with delicious Christmas fare by our gourmet caterers Cater Plus. There will be sparkling bubbles, chocolates, raffles and lovely family Christmas stories from whoever wishes to share their memories with us.
Resthaven Foundation lunches are always open for community women to attend as well as our Residents and at only $20 per person plus a very comfortable environment, it's no wonder we sometimes get settled in for the afternoon!
With all the support so far, our fundraising thermometer is rising for our new Mobility Van complete with wheelchair hoist – only approximately $75,000.00 to go. So, if you would like to help towards this target please come along and join in, you will be very welcome. Call reception 827 6097 to book your seat by Wednesday 30 November.

On Wednesday 12th October, don't miss the Premiere Movie night at Cambridge's Tivoli Cinema, showing "Golden Years" a star-studded cast in a comedy heist caper. What a law abiding citizen can get up to once they retire!
Tickets $25 pp includes nibbles. Drinks can be purchased.

Come along to this fabulous concert. Led by Musical Director Sean Kelly, Male Voices Waikato is an amazing group of performers well known for their entertaining performances and wide range of styles - from pop, gospel, classical, jazz, folk, musical and contemporary. All welcome.

May 2016 - Two exciting winter ventures. Don't miss out.
Once a month on Fridays, there's a Long Lunch especially for the ladies. It's a relaxing 2 course lunch with a different guest speaker each time.
Sunday Winter Concerts - on some wintery Sunday afternoons there will be concerts. The concert series kicked off in May with the fabulous Bruised Brothers (pictured) entertaining a good crowd.

A large portion of the sales goes directly to the Resthaven Foundation, and once again, Eric Hill (our wonderful Patron) has come up with images of Cambridge that will delight. From a magical fireworks display to tranquil country scenes, this calendar is a stunner!
