About Us
The Friends of Resthaven Foundation Charitable Trust's purpose is to assist in raising funds for aged-care equipment, services and education for Cambridge Resthaven facilities and also the wider Cambridge community, aiming to make facilities accessible and affordable.
Our History
The Foundation was established in 2012 and named the Resthaven Foundation Charitable Trust. In 2022 the Foundation joined with the Friends of Resthaven, combining two organisations that had been pillars of support for Cambridge Resthaven for many years. With similar missions - the Foundation to fundraise for large projects, and the Friends of Resthaven to fundraise for small projects and support Resthaven residents - these organisations agreed the time was right to merge and become the Friends of Resthaven Foundation.
Projects
The Foundation is led by a team of professionals, with a range of commercial experience and an in-depth understanding of the aged care sector. We have successfully funded a number of projects including: specialised therapy tools for those living with dementia; education for employees of Cambridge rest homes; contribution to the new Resthaven Village Centre; a community time capsule; establishment of the Cambridge Community Menzshed; a mobility van with a wheelchair hoist; a Cambridge Meals on Wheels vehicle; and the ResthaVAN van. Fundraising for a therapeutic bath is currently underway.
